BTL Property has always been an advocate for donating and supporting Soldiers charities since the company opened, supporting our countries men who are serving or have served in the Armed Forces.
At the beginning of this 2016 six brave members of the team, Billy Heyman - Managing Director, Victoria Finch - Sales Director, Charles Catto - Design Director, Chris Moore - AV Director, Clare Castle-Smith - Senior Designer and Nick Jenner - Project Assistant decided to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon hoping to raise lots of money in aid of The Soldiers' Charity. Our Managing Director and 10 of members of staff have all served in the Armed Forces so a cause close to the heart of the company.
The reason we choose to support ABF The Soldiers Charity is because it gives a lifetime of support to soldiers and Veterans from the British Army and their immediate families when they are in need.
They make grants to individuals through their regiments and corps, as well as supporting a wide range of specialist charities that sustain the British army "family" both at home and around the world making a difference at a critical point in peoples' lives. They have been doing this since 1944, working with veterans of every conflict, and envisage continuing doing so for the 'long haul' - supporting all future generations of our soldiers and their dependants.
So on a crisp autumn morning in October our amazing team ran the Half Marathon with all coming in at around the 2 hour mark!
The team were rewarded afterwards with a celebratory meal at the Big Easy in Chelsea along with their partners.
After the total was counted and all donations made we are pleased to say that we have raised a whopping £8,109.00 for the charity!
Thankyou to everyone that supported the team and donated to the total, and well done to the runners!
Last week we had the opportunity to meet with Brigadier Robin Bacon from ABF The Soldiers Charity where the team presented him with a cheque and he got to meet the team that ran the marathon.
